When Abby goes to middle school at a boarding school called Brookside Academy, she hopes to leave the shy girl she used to be behind, and now goes by the name Abbi. She soon realizes that her sister, Sydney being the president of the Committee, the student- run government for the school, makes her very popular, and makes lots of other student rely on her to get what they want. Sydney has power over everyone, especially her fellow committee members. Her secret is that she gets them to always vote with her by threatening to tell an embarrassing secret about them to the whole school. She also gets to decide wether people get what they want since she's the president, so if she doesn't like someone, or they beat her at something, she teaches them a lesson, by never giving hem what they want. This book is interesting, and it really holds your attention. The sisters are at first enemies, but then they come together, and help each other, and I really like that part in the book.

Short- By Holly Goldberg Sloan

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Julia Marks is not tall. But she refuses to say she's short. When her mom signs her up to be in a musical, Julia is sure she's going to hate it. Boy, how wrong she is. She learns a lot, makes amazing friends, and has tons of fun! I love how Julia talks about grown-ups, and my moms often wondered why I kept laughing out loud, at random times while I was reading this book.

Roller Girl- By Victoria Jamieson

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Astrid and her friend Nicole go to see a game of roller derby. Astrid loves it, and wants to play on the junior team with Nicole, but she doesn't realize that Nicole doesn't want to. Nicole is going to dance camp, with Astrid's arch nemesis... A girl named Rachel. Astrid soon realizes that roller derby is not easy, and she has to work crazy hard to be able to play in the bout. In the camp, she makes a friend named Zoey and she turns out to be much more loyal than Nicole. I like this book, because I like to roller skate, and if you do too, you might like this book! I also like that she pushes through the hard work of roller derby. This is also just a fun book that I really like!

Fish in a Tree- By Lynda Mullaly Hunt

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ally has a secret. She has Dyslexia, (which means it's difficult for her to read). She's never told anyone, because she thinks she's dumb, and it might sound like it, but think about this: no one has ever found out yet, and she is in the 5th grade. She has fooled a lot of smart people, including her brother, Travis, her mother, and a bunch of teachers. I like this book because it- like Out of my Mind- helps people have more empathy for those with disabilities. Ally is funny and smart, and it's fun to see stuff from her perspective! Both of my moms have read it, and they like it a lot too!
