Sophie Foster has a secret. She can read minds. Ooohhh! that's awesome! I want to read minds! You think, but really, it's not. She knows she doesn't belong, but then, where does she belong? The answer is revealed, when she meets some guy named Fitz Vacker, who tells her she's not human, she's an elf. When he takes her to the elven world, she finds out about a group called "The Black Swan", and another group, that is a mystery. one of them is out to get her, but why? Who is on her side? I love these books, because the book takes so many twists and turns, you don't know what to expect. If you like the first one, there will be 7 more to read, and they're all great! My favorite characters are Sophie, Biana (You'll figure out who this is if you read the books), and Keefe (ditto). My favorite book is probably the 1st one, but they're all equally amazing.

Short- By Holly Goldberg Sloan

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Julia Marks is not tall. But she refuses to say she's short. When her mom signs her up to be in a musical, Julia is sure she's going to hate it. Boy, how wrong she is. She learns a lot, makes amazing friends, and has tons of fun! I love how Julia talks about grown-ups, and my moms often wondered why I kept laughing out loud, at random times while I was reading this book.

Roller Girl- By Victoria Jamieson

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Astrid and her friend Nicole go to see a game of roller derby. Astrid loves it, and wants to play on the junior team with Nicole, but she doesn't realize that Nicole doesn't want to. Nicole is going to dance camp, with Astrid's arch nemesis... A girl named Rachel. Astrid soon realizes that roller derby is not easy, and she has to work crazy hard to be able to play in the bout. In the camp, she makes a friend named Zoey and she turns out to be much more loyal than Nicole. I like this book, because I like to roller skate, and if you do too, you might like this book! I also like that she pushes through the hard work of roller derby. This is also just a fun book that I really like!

Fish in a Tree- By Lynda Mullaly Hunt

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ally has a secret. She has Dyslexia, (which means it's difficult for her to read). She's never told anyone, because she thinks she's dumb, and it might sound like it, but think about this: no one has ever found out yet, and she is in the 5th grade. She has fooled a lot of smart people, including her brother, Travis, her mother, and a bunch of teachers. I like this book because it- like Out of my Mind- helps people have more empathy for those with disabilities. Ally is funny and smart, and it's fun to see stuff from her perspective! Both of my moms have read it, and they like it a lot too!
